We couldn't wait to try again. Could we possibly get pregnant right away on the second try?? We did our second IUI with Clomid in February. This time, two weeks later landed on a Sunday. Unfortunately, the lab wasn't open on Sundays so I went in for my pregnancy blood test on Monday, February 6. I got a call that afternoon from my nurse. She asked if it was a good time to talk. And I said yes, so she immediately started telling me what my numbers were. I said, "Stop! Am I pregnant?" And she said, "Yes, sorry, congratulations, you're pregnant!" I was so confused at first when she started talking to me. I expected the announcement to come out of her mouth first! It was kind of funny! I was 4 weeks and 1 day.
I had heard from women who have had miscarriages that finding out the second time isn't as exciting and that you are on pins and needles the whole time. I was really worried about this. However, it wasn't true for me. I was soooooooo excited and my smile made it's return! I wanted to tell Mike in a fun way but didn't want to just announce on the phone or tell him at the train station again so I sent him this text, "First Comes Love, Then Comes Marriage, Then??" His reply, "We're going to be 'rents?" Oh yes, we were pregnant again.
So again, I had to have my blood taken each week and this is what really made me relax. My numbers this time around were far and away bigger and better. I truly felt pregnant and new we'd have a take home baby this November!
