Less than one week to go before our due date! I can't believe it's already been 39 weeks. I didn't believe everyone who told me that being pregnant would fly by. As my pregnancy ends, I've been reflecting on how my pregnancy has gone. As hard as it was to get to this place, I have to say, I have had a WONDERFUL pregnancy. I've had no health related issues, very few symptoms (carpal tunnel in the hands recently) and I've gained little weight (which I realize probably plays a big part in why I enjoyed being pregnant so much).
As much as I've enjoyed being pregnant, I can see why people get to this point in their pregnancy and they are ready to be done. I think I'm close to that point. Not only am I ready to meet the little one, but I am getting more and more uncomfortable (particularly at night). Getting out of bed is not an easy task and try multiplying that 4 or 5 times a night to go to the bathroom!
I've had weekly appointments since 36 weeks and have had no progress yet. I'm really fine with that since I realize you can show progress early on and still deliver late.
Since Mike and I are very timely people, his mom jokes that the baby is probably going to be arriving right on time, on 11/11/12. That would be special since he'd share a birthday with his Nonni Debra (Nonni = Italian for Grandma).
Speaking of grandma names, my mom will be going with the name Nonna, which is another version of Grandma in Italian. So we'll have Nonna Amy and Nonni Debra!
Below is a family picture of me and Mike with Samson in our old house. This is taken two days before we moved!
