Trip to Florida

Maxwell took the second flight of his life to visit his grandma and great-grandparents in Florida back in August. We left a few days after his 9 month appointment and the egg debacle. I was traveling with Maxwell by myself and a little nervous about the trip. We left bright and early and he did pretty well the entire trip!

The trip was low key as we just played with Maxwell and ventured out for some shopping errands! It was so fun to see my mom and grandparents interacting with him. My mom had rented a really fun musical standing toy that Maxwell loved.

Highlights of the trip:

• Watching my grandparents play with Maxwell!

• The musical standing toy - hours of entertainment! 

• Spending time with Maxwell at the pool and beach! I think he had fun at the beach but was confused by the sand!

The low light of the trip? Maxwell's two front teeth cutting through and he also developed a cough. He was quite clingy all week! He learned to ask for me by saying "mmmm" and lunging towards me. I will say it was cool to hear him ask for me for the first time, although I wish he hadn't been so uncomfortable.

We learned something on our afternoon/early evening flight back - morning flights are much better! It wasn't that he did bad (or cried) on the flight but it was during the witching hour and he was whiny/restless. We were both glad when the plane touched down in Austin. Mike and Samson had missed us immensely and we missed them!
