After a stressful house hunt, we have finally moved in! We got the keys to our house on Wednesday, September 19 and immediately started the demolition on the chimney/fireplace and our painter started painting. The plan was to move furniture with the moving trucks that Monday. Luckily, I had my mom and friend Tanya in town for my shower that weekend, so they were there to help with the final packing and moving preparations!
On Monday, I said goodbye to the first house I owned. I thought I would be more sad, but I think by that point I was ready to move on.
I had Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off of work to get settled in and I needed every minute of those days! Although I didn't lift anything, I was on my feet all day and constantly moving. Needless to say it was an exhausting week! With Mike at work, I could not have done it without the help of my mom and dad!
By the time my mom left on Wednesday, the house was in pretty good shape. I can thank my short time served as a Pampered Chef saleswoman for the day long unpacking marathon of my kitchen!! Jeez - how is it possible to have that much kitchen stuff!
The painter finished up on Thursday and we are very pleased with color choices we made. Mind you, we made these choices with having only walked through the house a few times. I was a little nervous that I had made "pregnancy mind" decisions. So far, I like the choices we made but who knows after the baby is born! I can always blame Mike - he helped make the paint decisions too!
