Stressful Times

In between hearing the heartbeat for the first and second time, I was in the middle of planning a huge event at work. My firm was hosting a client appreciation event for over 500 folks. We secured Pat Benatar as our entertainment. She was the largest musical artist we've ever had, so the pressure was on for this event to be perfect! The week before my event, we found out that there were going to be significant road closures the night of the party. The City of Austin denied our request for valet parking right outside of the venue due to the closures so we had a week to find a valet parking location for about 250 cars. Talk about STRESSFUL! Things at home were stressful as well. Mike was busy with midterms and job searching and Samson had regressed on his potty training for some reason!

It ended up being a pretty good week, though. We got to see the heartbeat again and graduated from TFC (see post: Hearing the Heartbeat Again). Mike got a call for an interview for the following Monday (more on that later.) We started crating Samson again at night so that I no longer had to pick up his poop in the living room first thing in the morning! :) The valet situation worked out nicely - a huge garage across the street was available. And the event was a MAJOR SUCCESS! We received emails from clients all weekend letting us know how fabulous the event was.

I don't anticipate stressful weeks like that one again. Mike and I just watched a video about the progress of pregnancy and there was a whole section on how bad it is for the baby when the mama is stressed. Here's to easy (not as stressful) times for the rest of this ride!
